The Election Is Over. The Work of Being a Neighbor Continues.

The short version

I didn’t win the mayor’s race, but I came away from it more convinced than ever that informed, involved residents make Tallapoosa stronger. I’m grateful to every person who voted, volunteered, shared a concern, asked a hard question, or simply followed the conversation. That participation matters, and it should not end when an election does.

An election decides who will hold office. It does not end our responsibility to pay attention, support our neighbors, care for our community, and ask how public decisions affect the people who live here. Tallapoosa belongs to all of us, and its future will be stronger when residents have clear information and meaningful ways to take part.

This site is turning a new page with that purpose in mind. Joe Glass for Tallapoosa will be an independent civic resource—not an official city channel and not a continuation of the campaign. I’ll use it to share timely local updates, explain public decisions in plain language, highlight community events, and offer thoughtful commentary on issues that affect our town.

Accuracy and context will matter here. Whenever possible, I’ll link to meeting agendas, public records, official announcements, and other original sources so readers can examine the information for themselves. I’ll make clear what has been confirmed, what remains uncertain, and what reflects my own opinion or interpretation. If I make a mistake, I’ll correct it openly and explain what changed.

Independence does not mean pretending there is no room for perspective. It means putting facts first, showing the evidence, listening to residents, and being honest about where commentary begins. You may not agree with every conclusion shared here, but you should always be able to understand how it was reached.

My hope is that this becomes a useful place for every resident who wants to stay informed, join the conversation, and help Tallapoosa move forward with transparency, accountability, and respect for the community we share.

The campaign has ended. My commitment to this town has not.
